Last year, I had a goal of getting a good family picture. I realized we hadn't had one since Knox was born and he was three now and perfectly capable of sitting still for a group shot. Furthermore, my 7-year old is about to lose his front two teeth any day now so that pushed a sense of urgency. And my 10-year old still likes us... so you know the urgency there (teen years are on the horizon).
The struggle is real with family pictures. By the time you get everyone dressed and ready, you need a drink and/or a nap. It's so exhausting, and it never fails that someone in the group has a meltdown. The daunting task has scared me away, but we decided the risk was worth it.
We set up a photo session in November with a childhood friend and amazing photographer, Matt Andrews, at my Aunt's farm in College Grove. Between 8 kids and 8 adults, no one had a meltdown! We all made it out without any tantrums and bad attitudes!
And these are a few that he captured of my family. We will treasure these forever and I am SO glad we made the effort to get them.
