Tuesday, we left the babies with a sitter and headed to the Aquarium in Chattanooga. We had a blast with the girls by ourselves! We do not get to spend a lot of time with them alone, so it was really a fun time.
Above: We were lucky to be there while the divers were doing their special program. It was pretty interesting to watch this guy talk away while multiple huge sharks swam above him. I know this is pretty routine for them, but you never know when the shark may be having a bad day. Not too sure about that!Below: The Butterfly Catchers! The girls really enjoyed the Butterfly exhibit. Although these tiny creatures were not easy to catch, we managed to get a few. There were two that we exchanged quite a bit (3rd picture below), and by the end, Julie and I noticed they weren't looking the same as when we caught them. Luckily, we were able to scoop them off their little fingers and back on the benches without too much questioning. Poor butterflies.
We took a break for lunch at The Blue Plate, a hot spot right by the Aquarium. And naturally, they are known for their blue cheese chips so of course, we had to order some. Yum! Yum!
And wouldn't you know we didn't make it out of the Aquarium without a souvenir. I love the way they put the gift shop at the exit so you are forced to buy your sweet child something on the way out. These girls picked matching penguins and were so happy. Ours has even replaced lovie which is a HUGE deal.
After going back to the Aquarium, a brief jog on the bridge and checking out some local boutiques, we treated the girls to some afternoon ice cream. SA wasn't too sure about the flavor she chose. Hmmm...
Long day...these girls passed out on the way home.
We got back to play with these little rascals. They were so excited to see their mommies!
