On Valentine's Day, we surprised the kids with the news of an upcoming trip to Disney. We had it all planned with a vacation planner and had three weeks to get ready! The week we were to leave was one of the forecasted ice and snow storms. We bumped up our trip a few days early, and I flew solo with the kids for the first time to Orlando. They did great on the plane, and we hung out for a few days while daddy finished his business work in Orlando. It was such a nice few days playing at the pool and enjoying some 75 degree sunshine while it was less than 10 degrees at home!
Then we all headed over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to begin our Disney experience. Day 1 was at Magic Kingdom. We had a full day of fun.
Emmy got to meet two princesses and play a role in the Belle storytime.
Emmy had some deep conversations with Arial. Gavin refused to get his picture made with her but wasn't afraid to ride Pirates of the Caribbean or meet the Beast. All boy.
G Man hanging out for the "Under the Sea" ride.
I got lots of loving from this guy!
A highlight of our first day was eating at Belle's castle and meeting the Beast.
And we ended the day getting a souvenir. Emmy, of course, had to have the sparkly minnie ears and Gavin wanted a Peter Pan play set.
