The Joys of a BFF

Going through pregnancy alone for the very first time can be a very scary thing as your body goes through a series of changes. Luckily, I was fortunate to go through the experience with my best friend from childhood, Julie. Our babies were due one month apart, and we were able to share the same feelings of excitement, frustration and anxiety that are present throughout the nine months.

Julie and I have fond memories of growing up together in Columbia. We had many fun times together and will never forget spending the night together, discussing what we would like to dream about before bed, staying up late watching movies like Beaches or Dirty Dancing, jumping the creek on her farm, wearing our first matching outfits, buying our first training bras, playing "the boyfriend game," going to the elementary school festival with our first boyfriends, making our first dancing video together (watch our Britney Spears...hopefully I can convert the VHS to make this a future post), proudly wearing our first BFF necklace that pieced together, and putting together our first book of notes that we passed off at school (to name a few). The list goes on and on and continues to more recent events including our UT college experience to our weddings to having our first child. With all our great memories, it was so exciting to know we both would be having little girls. Now Sarah Ann (3 months) and Emmy (2 months) can begin a lifetime of memories just like Julie and I created.

It was actually Paula Abdul that we listened too - not Britany Spears. We are much too old to have enjoyed Britany Spears in those days!
