First Trip to the Beach

We took the babies on their first family vacation last week to Rosemary Beach and had a blast! There is nothing better than the beach - even if it is raining. Despite the few days of rain, we were still able to enjoy some warm sunshine and outdoor activities.

Bek and Emmy had the best time together, and E learned so much from her cousin. She turned 10 months last week, and we had several new developments occur. E copied everything her cousin did and followed him around. Her vocabulary continued to grow, as she described the ocean as "ooh" and table foods and drinks as "mmm." These are both regular words of Bek's, and she loves using them now. Although we had to leave Coco at home, she was close at heart. Emmy continued to remember her, as she pointed at the seagulls and said "Coco." We saw lots of Cocos this week.

E took lots of steps this week and stood up several times while holding on to nothing. She is very close to walking now. We do not have steps in our house, so she also learned to go up the two flights of stairs in the house. She and Bek loved going up them together.

Bek has also taught her the joy of eating real foods all by yourself. She wanted to eat what Bek was eating with no assistance from us. You can imagine the mess we made! I'm not sure how much food actually made it to her mouth, but she had fun trying.

With all the swimming, playing and climbing, she has been exhausted and sleeping like a rock. There was definitely no "down-time" on this trip, as all eyes were on the babies. Thanks to Mimi, Baba, Will & Rina for helping out and enduring the chaos. :)

Such a sweet picture. No words for this one.
Emmy was fascinated with Will. It must be the sweet baby face.

Love this serious, pouty face. She is always thinking about something.

Hmm...what is this stuff?

These pictures are great! The ones of Bek throwing the sand in her face are hilarious! Poor baby!
